Repurposed dialyzer membranes offer an innovative solution for water purification
in underserved communities in West Africa

Dialyze Direct, the largest provider of onsite dialysis in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), is thrilled to announce that its Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board, Dr. Nathan Levin, co-led the nonprofit organization Easy Water for Everyone in receiving second prize in the small innovative projects category of the 3rd annual Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award.

Easy Water for Everyone was recognized for its groundbreaking work in providing pure and safe drinking water to underserved rural communities in West Africa using repurposed dialysis membranes. The organization has brought clean water to 16,000 people across 35 villages in Ghana, Uganda and Senegal since its establishment in 2015. The technology they utilize, which operates independently of any electrical grid, has the capacity to produce over 50,000 liters of pure water daily.
